About Me

Oklahoma Writing Project Teacher Consultant since 2008

This is my sixteenth year as an educator; I have taught seventh grade, eighth grade, and college. In my twenties, I worked as a writer and editor, and I thought I had the best job in the whole wide world. Shortly after I began teaching English language arts in my thirties, I discovered this calling — sharing my passion for writing with adolescents and being blessed with the opportunity to make a difference in their young lives — is the best job in the whole wide world! When I’m not doing this, you might find me reading or writing (Go figure!), tinkering with technology, loving on my grandsons, lounging by the fire pit on the back patio my husband and boys built for me, or riding on the back of my husband’s Harley.
